A free and easy

A great site for families freedom to play ball games as wide open spaces, and great for dogs, just no wardens on site at night though, a very free and easy site, also great for camping.

Walled garden setting

We booked this site for one night as a stop over on the way home from Scotland. I would recommend this to anybody, as its peaceful and very pretty with it been enclosed by a old walled garden.  It has beautiful walks for the dog leading from the site and am looking forward to returning to explore the surrounding area in more detail. The showers are wet rooms, though would have benefitted from an extraction system, which would have reduced the ceiling from black spore marks.

Short Break

Lovely site with peaceful atmosphere - we were here late July beginning of school holidays so quite full. Admittedly we did manage to find a quiet corner just off the main area. Good walks around the grounds and fantastic Safari Park. Good base for exploring the Trossachs, Lake Lomond, Stirling and Falkirk. Good shop and reasonable tourist information room. You have to put a returnable £20 deposit down for a TV satellite box and scart lead which worked ok. Toilets and showers were mostly good, but condensation damp on ceiling has left black marks which will probably have to be sorted to get a higher rating.

Motorhome pitch, but, oh the noise

3rd visit to this site, first one in peak season which was a mistake. Site was very busy and very noisy (but I guess it's the school holidays, Senatorman notes this also on his review, it would also be great if people kept dogs on leads within site and not allowed to roam onto others pitches, and we have a dog it’s easy to wait until you are in dog walking area for no lead). Booked via Blair Drummond web site home page, don't use comment form/or leave a message neither was answered for us. Lovely site in great location, walled garden, arrived during lunch time (13:00 to 14:00) but you can access the site, find your pitch and book in once warden is back which no problem whatsoever was. Good stocked shop, information leaflet, Wi-Fi access payment and satellite box with lead if you want TV (normal TV reception via antenna is poor/non-existent). Didn't use washrooms (use my own on board van) but looked clean, pot wash area has 2 large sinks and loads of hot water. Service point for motorhome had good water pressure, chemical disposal point but drain down for tank (lift galv drain cover) needs a hose if like me it’s on the RHS of van. Good dog walking area from the site and also down to river/loch, turn right out of main gate. A great little site, albeit not at peak holiday time for us.

SOME GOOD SOME NOT SO GOOD

Just had a week at Blair Drummond - its a really pleasant site within an old walled garden and a good location for the Stirling area - we were a bit disappointed with the toilet block though which had damp patches on the ceilings and some grubby loose toilet seats. There was not a great deal of tourist info in the information room. It was also a bit noisy at night right upto midnight due to a minority of thoughtless people - maybe the wrong time of year to go for some of us.

Overnight stop

Good stopover on way south - easy access from A9. We hadn't booked - it was midweek in June. Facilities clean and quiet, sheltered location in walled garden with specimen mature trees. Wifi IS available - at a price. ( It's not on Caravan Club wifi.) Half hour for 50p or £3.50 per day - but very low download limit. Also couldn't get tv signal and wasn't aware of the satellite box available for loan. All my fault - as I didn't realise it was an " Affiliated" site until I arrived!!

Interim stay

We stayed for only one night over the bank holiday period. The site was full, accordingly there appeared to be insufficient shower cubicals during morning peak period. The site and facilities are very well maintained in a beautiful walled area, with friendly warden. We would certainly return to this site.
