Long weekend.....good with minor moans!!
Excellent location....Ashbourne and Carsington Water are ideal for retail therapy and walking. Derbyshire hills are brilliant for serious treks. Floral displays on site were an absolute joy to see but, personally..... the trees are too many, too tall and give far too much damp shade. Dog walk good. Wardens friendly and efficient. Plenty of children on site .....playing, riding bikes etc.....all well behaved and nice to have around. Surprised to see so much washing draped over lines, windows, whirlygigs etc.... not very picturesque views! So.... a few moans but nothing which would prevent a second visit. Again a personal view.....but on dark starry nights it was good to be in bed watching the occasional jet to-ing nd fro-ing from the airport. This site is well worth a visit.
