lovely site

Recieved a nice welcome even though we were a little late arriving and the office was about to close. Site and facilities were spotless. Situated just outside the village. a river runs just outside which our golden retriever loved. There's also a path running along it where you can walk. Saw kingfishers, Gray Wagtails and Jays in abundance.  Would suit nature lovers.

First visit to Cheddar

This is a lovely site set in a secluded spot yet close to the village centre via a 10 minute walk on public footpaths (so long as you can manage lots of steps - otherwise it is longer).  As ever it is well kept, spotlessly clean and despite blackboard warnings of potential noise from the adjacent football club it is a quiet site. We enjoyed the walks beside the River Axe directly from the site entrance and even saw an otter. There is much to see in the area and this is an excellent place from which to take day tours. You hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Lovely Site - Lovely Location

A clean and well maintained little site. Lovely to hear the church bells and can confirm that they do not interrupt your nights sleep, in fact they are quite soothing. Only small gripe, like others, is the number and size of the showers. The week we were there was very busy, and found it was best to shower out of the most popular times. All in all, would we return? Yes!

Excellent site

A very pleasant site very well run with more than helpful wardens. Very clean, quiet and very well situated to local attractions. Will definitely come again.

Lovely site

Only stayed one night mid-week where it was very quiet. The wardens could not have been more helpful and keep the site as immaculate as members allow, ie. the ones who do not obey the rules and don't lift their ground sheets. Very convenient for the Cheddar Gorge.

Lovely site

We have just spent a weekend at the site and all in all it is a lovely place to stay, situated in a beautiful location and within easy reach of various attractions. The site is immaculate and the wardens are extremely friendly and helpful. On the weekend we attended the local football club that backs onto the site was very noisy with loud music blaring out and the nearby church bells chimed out the hours 24/7. Would we return.......... yes

Very nice small site

A very nice, reasonably quiet**, small site 10 mins walk from Cheddar village and 15/20 mins walk (a little uphill) from Cheddar Gorge. Fairly close to M5 and central for most parts of Somerset. Facilities kept very clean by wardens who are friendly and helpful. Several good eating places in town or short drive away. **Bellringing practice Thursday went on a bit and I quite like bells and the adjacent local football pitch can get a bit noisy on march days but not exessive.

Nice site

The wardens were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We got the grass pitch which we prefer to hard standing and there was a nice view over the hills. It was quite a busy site so some conversational noise from caravans arriving and leaving. Also there was a football match on one of the nights we stayed so some noise from the next door football club and the brightness of flood lights. You could also hear the nearby church clock chiming. However, great location for visiting the Cheddar gorge and village.

Good site

Great site only gripe would be that the showers while lovely and clean are on the small side. Bit of occasional aircraft noise from Bristol airport but on the whole a peaceful site with good bus links to Wells and Weston Super Mare. The latter has seen a lot of improvement in recent years. Would definately go back
