Football noise

This is a very nice sight well looked after. Clean and tidy grounds and facilities. Well situated for sightseeing in Cheddar and Wells. There is noise from the football club just the other side of the hedge. Tuesday nights match was noisy especially the music from the speaker system. It did finish at just gone 10.00. Had we been warned we would have pitched the other side of the sight.

Wonderful Break

Stayed here for 3 nights over bank holiday weekend in August. Excellent site, friendly wardens, great facilities and a great location. As Motorhomers we like sites that are well located for shops and restaurants etc as we either walk or use buses when we're away and this was perfect. a few minutes walk to either Bugens or Tescos for essentials and Cheddar Gorge itself was approx. 15 mins walk so no strain there. Buses available to visit other locations inc Wells,Weston Super Mare etc. Will definatly be back.

One of our favourites

We stayed here, again, last month. This is a great little site. perfect for walkers like us. We also took a trip to Weston Super Mare from here and was pleasantly surprised. The site Wardens were very friendly and hardworking. We had a bad thunderstorm one evening. They walked around checking that all was ok at each caravan/motorhome. The site is very well looked after and maintained. The safer walk into town is recommended. (left out of the gate, and over the bridge into town) Would like to thank the staff for the level of cleanliness of the shower block etc. Much appreciated. We will see you again next Summer.....

A Little Gem (Don't tell everyone, I want it all to myself!)

Location 5* - Staff 5* - Facilities 4.5* This little gem of a site is directly behind the Cheddar Football Club and the little bar, skittle alley is very welcoming, there is a good array of beers, ciders etc. The walk into town via the river bridge is quite precarious as previously stated on another review, however there is a safer route where it is pedestrian / push bike ONLY so please bear this in mind. Try Wilkins Cider Farm at nearby Mudgeley, most of the top TV chefs have, among other A listers. We will be back!!!

The walk of death

The site is extremely well maintained but campers should be aware the short walk to the village is via a busy road without pavements.  Many motorists passed by extremely close and far too fast, there are no facilities on site for dogs either.  And while I'm being picky 4 showers are not enough.

Great location

A great location, although I feel the directions I the book are incorrect.  Shower cubicles a little smaller than in other sites I've stayed at but perfectly functional. Fabulous location for Cheddar, easy safe walk to the main village, and then just a little further to the gorges.

Superb site!

What a lovely site. The wardens were friendly and helpful, the facilities were immaculate and clean. The pitches were perfect and drained well after the horrific thunderstorm! We were within walking distance of Cheddar Gorge and a local supermarket. The only noise was the football match being held the other side of the hedge! We will be returning again.

Great site but!!!!!

This is a great site with it being within easy walking distance of Chedder and the Gorge etc However families with young children should avoid the pitches that back on the football pitch as when there is a game on the supporters can be boisterous and some voice there opions of the game in a very basic manner.

Tranquil cheddar

Arrived at Cheddar for our second week in Aug 15. Sadly we had to leave halfway through to get back home, but What a great site! Wardens very friendly and helpful. Hardstandings were brilliant with lovely lush grass beside them.Everything you need all within walking distance. We ate at the Bath Arms in Cheddar village for our last meal and was not disappointed, also the white hart up by the gorge, very dog friendly most places accepted the dog including both pubs and Cheddar caves. Budgens is very close, you are able to walk, but if you take the car you have to pay for the car park, there is also a Tesco express nearby. The site and the facilities were immaculate. Well Done Cheddar!! We would defiantly come back again.

A perfect Caravan Club Site

We stayed at Cheddar CC site on 15th August for three nights. This is how a Caravan Club site should be. Great wardens, Great location, shops, dinning, Cheddar Gorge all within walking distance. Site is secluded but open view, good pitches. Wells is lovely, Wookey Hole is worth a visit, Local strawberries are great. Supermarket within walking distance. What more could you want.
