Day 1 – Arrival at Domaine de la Paille Basse

Relax on site after your arrival before the welcome meeting this evening, followed by drinks and a meal.

Day 2 - Enjoy a free day at your leisure

Take it easy today and settle into your holiday. The campsites pool might tempt you or if you’re feeling more active you could hire a bike and explore the local area.

Day 3 - Visit to Rocamadour and the Gouffre de Padirac

Today starts off with a visit to the fascinating town of Rocamadour, built into the cliff-face high above a canyon, seemingly defying gravity.  In the afternoon, you will visit the Gouffre de Padirac and walk through its network of underground lakes, and amongst the stalagmites and stalactites that have formed over the years.

Day 4 - Enjoy a free day at your leisure

Do as you choose today, relax at the campsite or perhaps visit the nearby town of Souillac.

Day 5 - Excursion to Sarlat-la-Canéda 

Spend the morning exploring Sarlat’s buzzing market, which sells a range of delicacies and regional specialities, followed by a guided tour of Sarlat itself.

After free time for lunch, you will visit Roque Saint-Christophe - a fascinating troglodyte city and fort, parts of which date back as far as 55,000 years ago!

Day 6 - Enjoy a free day at your leisure

Day 7 - A visit to Martel

Discover this medieval town with buildings dating back to the 13th century.  One of the highlights of the town is the seven large medieval towers that rise above the town.  Afterwards you get the opportunity to admire breathtaking panoramic views of the Dordogne Valley as you enjoy a trip on the ‘Truffle Train’ steam train. The 8-mile journey between Martel and Saint Denis les Martel offers views over the valley as you travel along the hillside and over a viaduct. End the day with a visit to a walnut oil mill!

Day 8 - Enjoy a free day at your leisure

Day 9 - Excursion to the ‘Valley of 1000 Castles’

Discover just some of the many castles that lie along the Dordogne river with a relaxing river trip in a traditional, flat bottomed ‘Gabares’ boat.

Afterwards, take the train up to the village of Domme and enjoy some free time to explore and have lunch. Finally, spend the rest of the afternoon visiting the exquisite Jardins de Marqueyssac.

Day 10 - Enjoy a free day at your leisure

Day 11 - A full day outing to Collonges-la-Rouge

Visit another one of the most beautiful villages of France with its distinctive 15th and 16th Century red sandstone houses and 25 towers. This impressive village was once a stronghold of the counts of Turenne.  In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to visit the village of Turenne itself.

Day 12 - Enjoy a free day at your leisure

Day 13 - Museum visit and Grottes de Cougnac

In the morning, visit this unique and equally fascinating Museum of Agricultural and Automotive Machinery. From vintage cars and tractors to toys and mechanical household items of bygone times, this extensive collection will take you on a trip to the past.

In the afternoon, go back even further in time with a visit to the prehistoric caves of Cougnac. Amongst the impressive display of stalactites, these caves house some incredible ancient cave paintings dating back 30,000 years!

Day 14 - A free day at your leisure and farewell meal

Today is at your leisure. Perhaps take the opportunity to buy some last minute souvenirs or maybe just relax at the campsite and take advantage of the pool. In the evening, join your fellow members and Tour Hosts at the campsite restaurant for a farewell meal.

Day 15 - Depart campsite before midday
