Convenient for M5

Hortham Farm - Wood View
We only stayed one night on our way to Cornwall. Only a few minutes off the M5 and very easy to access. We were directed to the Field View site but had booked the Wood View site which has a better outlook. The mistake was soon put right though and we got settled in, There is a very nice dog walk through the wood next to the site which we did. If we were coming to stay in this area we would certainly consider having a few days on this site

Good CL, but we did not choose the ideal week!

Hortham Farm - Wood View
We only had a few days' notice that this CL was having electrical work done during our stay and we decided to shorten our visit, rather than move to the adjacent CL partway through. Even so, we did have a digger working very close to our pitch part of the time, so it wasn't as peaceful as usual (we've been here before). We did not see the owners at all but arrival information was comprehensive and this CL is well run, clean and secure with a code entry gate at night. I feel it is worth making readers away that it does take a good 30 minutes to get to the centre of Bristol from the CL, which is worth bearing in mind if you plan to go in and out several times. The electrical work was to convert the hook-up bollards to a coin-operated, pay-as-you-go system for electricity on the pitch. Personally, this would only appeal to us if the pitch price was significantly reduced to reflect that the rate was no longer all-inclusive, but it may not be an issue for anyone else.

Convenient access to motorways and easy access for larger outfits.

Hortham Farm - Wood View
Not much I can add to previous reviews except be sure to take that first left in Hortham Lane. It is a turn even though the road name stays the same. The straight-on option is marked as a dead-end. You will be allocated to one of the two sites on arrival. There is water close to each pitch but we were asked not to make a direct connection as they have had issues with leaks in the past. Drainage is to a hedgerow. The CDP is fitted with a fine filter which will not allow poo to go through - look for the hanging metal hook which you can use to remove the filter.

Good Ste for Access to Bristol and Motorways

Hortham Farm - Wood View
We received good communication from Annalise on what to do on arrival, directions we're excellent too, access to the site was easy but we wish we'd known we could just pitch on any that were vacant as this was not clear, in the end that's what we did and there was no problem. Although there was a water tap on our pitch, this was shared with the next one along, that was fine as it meant it was easy to fill out barrel. Waste was emptied into the hedge. Although the pitch was hard standing, we were able to put the awning on grass which is so much easier. We felt very private as we were surrounded by a hedge. Field View is very nice, with views looking across to grass and trees, it was hard to believe we were close to a city. The motorways were close and you can just about hear the traffic, we didn't mind as it certainly didn't keep us awake. Annalise did visit and gave us great information on buses and places to visit, the bus stop into Bristol is a short walk away and they are very frequent. We visited Westonbirt which was a short drive away and well worth going, also Bristol Aeronautical museum which is amazing, we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was incredibly hot when we were there and our trip into Bristol was not a success, the bus was not air conditioned, took an hour as it goes through lots of districts and, as it was Saturday, the city was very busy. We're not city people so it was our fault and the heat was too much. Hortham Farm is used as an overnight stop for those heading North or South but is worth a longer stay in our opinion.

Very friendly and convenient location

Hortham Farm - Wood View
Very happy with this CL. Very friendly hosts and the hardstanding pitches are spacious with water standpipes and electricity hook ups for each of the pitches. Excellent location close to M4/ M5 junction.
