Why stay here ...

Our CL is located in a beautiful rural location within the grounds of our family home at The Old Vicarage. Beautiful views to the Marlborough Downs and renowned Roundaway Hill. Our site is within striking distance of many fantastic places to explore including the Georgian City of Bath, the picturesque National Trust village of Lacock and Bowood House, with its Championship Golf Course, Spa and children's adventure playground.

Wonderful walks direct from the property with footpaths to pubs such as The Westbrook, Bromham and footpath through the Spye Park estate to the Rising Sun, Bowden Hill. 

The stunning view up to the Iron Age hill 'fort' of Olivers' Castle on the Roundway; where the battle of Roundway was fought in 1643. 

Lacock

• A short drive away and is famous for numerous television shoots including Sense and Sensibility, Harry Potter and Larkrise to Candleford. There are several very good pubs including the Red Lion and The George, Lacock Abbey. It is posible to walk or cycle there.

Bowood Country House

• A 5 minute drive, a beautiful Grade 1 listed Georgian house with interiors designed by Robert Adam and set within 100 acres of gardens designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown and is a five minute drive away.  In May the rhododendrons are in full bloom and well worth a visit. There is also an excellent adventure play ground for children aged up to 12 and Championship Golf Course. Bowood is a Grade I listed Georgian Country House with interiors by Robert Adam and a garden design by Lancelot "Capabiity" Brown.  It is adjacent to the village of Derry Hill, halfway between Calne and Chippenham in Wiltshire.

Bath

• The world famous Georgian City of Bath is approximately 15 miles west of here and definitely worth a visit.  Here you will find Roman Baths and Thermae Spa, the Abbey and wonderful shops nestled in antique alleyways including the renowned Pulteney Bridge.

Devizes

• 10 minute drive, where you will find the famous Caen Hill Flight of Canal Locks with a flight of 29 along the rural canal and through the market town. Devizes hosts many independent shops and cafes.
