From educational museums to indoor wildlife parks, there’s a wealth of options for the whole family when the weather isn’t playing ball. Here are some of the best indoor activities in Cornwall.
National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Falmouth
Nestled in the historic port town of Falmouth, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall is a treasure trove of maritime history. The museum’s striking architecture and stunning waterfront location are just the beginning. Inside, there’s a world of boats, artefacts and interactive exhibits that tell the story of Cornwall’s maritime history.
Highlights include a magnificent collection of small boats and an immersive tidal zone. It’s an engaging and educational experience for all ages, offering a different perspective on Cornwall’s unique heritage.

A famous depiction of King Arthur in Tintagel
This Tintagel attraction ranks as one of the most unique in Cornwall. The halls, built in the 1930s by a wealthy eccentric, are a tribute to the Arthurian legends.
The main hall is dominated by a huge round table and stunning stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. With its dramatic atmosphere and beautiful craftsmanship, it’s a perfect indoor escape for anyone captivated by medieval tales.

Penguins at Paradise Park, Hayle
For a wildlife encounter that's perfect for all weather, head to Paradise Park in Hayle. While much of the park is outdoors, the Tropical House is one of the best indoor activities in Cornwall for getting up close and personal with exotic birds and plants. The JungleBarn Indoor Play Centre is another gem, offering a huge covered space for 3-15 year olds to stretch their legs. There’s a dedicated toddlers’ area and you can buy specific tickets for JungleBarn entry only in the winter months. Head here regardless of the forecast!

Lappa Valley is an excellent choice for families, offering a charming blend of indoor and outdoor fun. While it’s known for its delightful miniature railway that takes you on a scenic journey through the valley, it also has some fantastic indoor provisions for when the weather turns.
The indoor soft play area is a big hit with children, and the café provides a cosy spot for a hot drink and a snack. The combination of train rides, play areas and nature trails makes it a versatile destination that can adapt to the changing Cornish weather, ensuring a day of smiles and adventure.

No list of the best indoor activities in Cornwall would be complete without mentioning the world-famous Eden Project. Although it has vast outdoor gardens, its iconic biomes are the ultimate indoor experience. The Rainforest Biome takes you on a journey through the world's largest indoor rainforest, complete with a stunning waterfall and exotic plants.
Even though this is quite a bit further away from our Club campsites than what’s featured previously, this world-famous all-weather attraction is worth the extra time spent in the car.
