Things to do when camping in Wales

You can choose to walk, climb, run or even fly your way around Wales. Head to Bannau Brycheiniog - the Brecon Beacons - for some of the most beautiful hillwalking on the planet. Challenge yourself to scale Snowdon, the country’s highest mountain, and take to the air at Zip World in Penrhyn Quarry, the world’s fastest zip line.

Get glimpses of dolphins, rare birds and wild flowers from the coastal walks around the Pembrokeshire National Park and Anglesey, or take to the sea in a kayak or tourist boat.

With 400 castles and fortifications, and countless gardens, breathtaking scenery, and a network of heritage railways, Wales is a sightseer’s delight. The trio of Conwy, Cardiff and Caernarfon Castles date back over 1,000 years and the Italian-inspired town of Portmeirion is familiar as the setting for numerous film and television shows.

And if all this activity proves too much, sample the local food - from spicy sweet Welsh Cakes to the hearty Welsh lamb stew known as cawl. Or simply take your seat in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and enjoy real Welsh dragons battle it out on the rugby pitch.
