Excellent place to spend the winter

Alannia Costa Blanca Rally 2024 Here we are again on ARC (Alannia Rally Club) hosted by the Caravan and Motorhome Club. This is our 3rd year here with the Club although we had been before with the other side. It is always a pleasure to meet up and form our little village again for a few months in the sun. The Rally Hosts, Lyn, Rosina, Bob and Jack have had to work extra hard this year with a cut in their numbers, but the ralliers have mucked in and helped out. Sue and I have been heartened to see so many new to rallying and not just in Spain, hopefully they will continue in the UK. Best wishes to the Rally Hosts and all our friends and just to reassure you, I have my kilt already packed.

Amazing site with excellent hosts

This was our first visit to Alannia and it won't be our last. Its just perfect for us we only wish we had booked for longer.. The facilities are first class. The staff in the restaurant bar and reception were very friendly and helpful. Thank you to our hosts Lyn, Bob, Rosina and Jack who work hard to provide a variety of entertainment and support to everyone. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They do an amazing job. Looking forward to next year.

Great rally, lots of laughs.

Our second visit to Alannia and already looking forward to next year’s fun. Large rally on a large site but with wonderful facilities. Site has its own plaza but the rally also has a club house. Location remote if you don’t have your own transport but lots of fun activities in the rally and local car hire is available. Great for cycling as mostly flat. Thank you to our hosts who worked tirelessly to organize all the activities. We would have no hesitation in recommending the rally as it is excellent. Rod and Kim

First time on a hosted rally

This was our first time on a hosted rally and we both have to say that the hosts (Jack, Rosalina, Bob, Lyn)were exceptional, helpful, professional and go the extra mile for all who attend the rally. They worked tirelessly to make the whole rally experience a fabulous one. The site is outstanding! With all the facilities you could wish for indoor swimming pool, spa, aqua swimming, yoga and the list goes on! Small shop that has everything you require, hairdressers too. The bar has a restaurant, having eaten there many times can’t complain the staff are lovely as is the food. Happy hour on a Thursday is not to be missed with free entertainment makes for a cracking evening, the local town is 3km and can be walked, cycled or driven if you wish with every kind of restaurant, bars, doctors, dentists, vets and if you need anything the large local store has everything from fancy dress to tools all under one roof. Being a dog family, it’s been amazing with lots of walks for them both and a secure play area for them to run around in. Definitely be booking again! Enjoyed our time so much we’re sad to leave! The rally works because of the hosts and all the volunteers who organised cycle rides, walks, crafts, games, lunches out! To you all a huge thank you, you’re all amazing!

Excellent place to spend the winter

By the time we left on the 1st April we had been on the Alannia Costa Blanca site for 78 nights having arrived for the rally a day early. This is our third time on the site and only the second with CAMC hosting the event. Although it is a large site it is very well run and the staff are always willing to help and do so with a smile. Within the site there is a bar/bistro, restaurant for functions, small supermarket, spa, gym indoor pool, 2 outdoor pools, tennis courts and much more. The site can be considered to be remote with the nearest town, Catral being about 3 km away it is a good walk but a gentle cycle ride away. The town has supermarkets, restaurants, China shop, doctors, dentist, pharmacies and vets. This year there has been no electricity (which is metered) included in the site fee which is understandable in the current energy crisis so you basically pay for what you use. Spanish LPG cylinders (Repsol) are available on site. A cylinder can be hired for your stay as long as you have a current service report. The pitches are of a good size with low hedges and a fine gravel finish which is easily carried into the van. A ground sheet is advisable and can be bought on site. A freestanding clothes drier will also be needed as drying lines tied to trees is not allowed. Over the years we have made many, many friends who we will hopefully meet up with again next year, as well as meeting new friends. We have found this year’s rally to be as if a community was coming back together after an enforced separation. The weekly schedule soon filled up with events organised by the hosts with ralliers filling in slots with bike rides, walks, crafts and musical jamming sessions, etc. It is a case of the more you put n the more you will get out. The rally hosts work incredibly hard to make this event the success it is and both Sue and I looked forward to returning next year. The only negative comment I would make is about dogs barking. It an the age-old issue to which there does not seem to be an easy solution other than owners taking more responsibility for their pets and respecting other people’s right peace and quiet.

Alannia Resort - Rally 2023

This was our first rally, indeed our first venture overseas with our caravan. We found all the facilities excellent, except for the shower heads in the shower blocks; they needed de-scaling or replacing. The only drawback was the traffic noise from the AP7. Other than this - no complaints. There was always something to do, and places to go. The rally was extremely well run by volunteers, who were approachable and could not have been more helpful. They organised entertainment both during the day and the evening. We met like-minded people and have gleaned a great deal of knowledge re: the caravan world. A big thank you to all the hosts who went above and beyond their roles. We will definitely be returning, but for a longer stay.

Top Quality Site - Very Good Rally.

This was our first rally and we were delighted with the vast majority of it, there’s always some things you’d like to change and for me, the only thing missing with this location was the ease to walk to and from the sea-front , other than that the site was 5 star. Quiet , clean and the staff at every location throughout the site was very good. the food at the pub / restaurant, though not excellent , was very good for pub grub, staff were very very busy and I’d say at times needed more support ( during busy times ) but could not fault anyone. The Spa Is excellent, big, clean and staff were very helpful. All on all a top site. The rally itself was very good, firstly all the team are volunteers, but willing voulunteers who bring a smile and an enthusiasm to the whole rally. We spent 6 weeks on site and I’d say there was a bit of “repetition “ for some of the weekly activities, there was a feeling that a few things were “dated” and that some of the more popular events required a bit more of a tweak. I would have personally liked to see more day trips, there are so many areas around and a group tour to the vineyards, beaches , best paella places etc could and would be welcomed , I’d also say a suggestion box would be ideal , rather than a “vote of hands” at a weekly meeting ( not everyone has the confidence for that). We are living in a time where age dynamics are changing , people are more “young at heart” and that needs to be something that’s given thought, hence the suggestion boxes at the rally , let’s not forget some members are there for the full length of time. I’d say there was a wee bit of complacency for some old rules and habits, but nothing that can’t be resolved with an open mind and open feedback to the club. The team in place during the rally were great, I believe it was new for 4 of the team, and to be honest, you wouldn’t have known it, the events were run well and everything went to time and fun was had by everyone, if the rally continues to offer these options, with new and innovative change and rally teams willing to engage and support that change, then these rally’s will become popular with everyone from their late 40s to 100s…. If you are contemplating a rally, especially Alannia , then go for it , you won’t regret it and you’ll have a superb time , as we did.

Alannia winter sun rally

We have enjoyed this winter sun break here for a few years now and hope to return next year also. We believe that the number of caravanners that return each year shows how successful this winter sun holiday is. We are grateful to the caravan and motorhome club for organising it this year and also to Bob and Lyn for running the rally. We felt in safe hands in these uncertain times.

Alannia Winter Sun 2022

This is the first time we have been to this site or been on a winter sun holiday. We had some initial problems with a faulty electric cable and a blocked gas regulator and a more serious medical problem but we have thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. The hosts, Bob and Lynn, have been extremely helpful and have worked tirelessly to keep us amused and entertained. The site staff are helpful and polite. I hope the CAMC run the same programme next year and if all goes well we hope to be here.

Super site and winter rally

We arrived on site in December and joined the rally in January. Site very clean and tidy with excellent facilities. The site management organises activities and then also there are rally activities so always something going on or you can choose to sit in the sun - join in or not as the mood takes you! The rally hosts worked hard to organise events for all tastes and were friendly and helpful. Many ralliers also helped with organising activities. The weather was mainly good for the duration of our stay - often warm and sunny enough to sit out but usually cold at night - the caravan heating is very useful! This is a very large site with two extensive areas given to the rally. We did feel that the rally reached its maximum capacity, as the rally room gets crowded and some ralliers would be disappointed if they could not attend social events. We had a great time and already planning for next season.
