Very nice site ,If a little squashed in

We really like this site we have stared at it now for two years , we found the restaurant on site very nice indeed , where are most evenings and never had a bad meal . It's extremely useful having the supermarket just across the road and another just 5 minutes walk away . Some of the pictures are a little on the small side so if you can book for one of the largest pitches . Extremely good cycling from the site . It's a 5 minute walk from the site to the sea front promenade where there is a lovely walk . The staff on site were always very helpful and spoke good English.

Good site but packed in.

This is a good site with views of the hills behind and a good walk/cycle along an old railway line plus I think some walks into the hills. Also you can promenade along the beachfront. The facilities were good, one older shower block, one new. They have a happy hour and there is a restaurant and good Supermacado across the road and Lidl within sight. Also a small indoor pool in winter and a pool in summer. The area of Benicassim is smart, with well tended villas, the beach front seems quite old fashioned, no bars etc. If you want to eat out I suggest going into Benicassim town, which has a nice feel. You can get a train to lovely Valencia but it's 1 1/2 hours each way and packed (masks obligatory). You can walk to the station in 20 minutes. The pitches are very small but highish hedges give a sense of privacy and its sunny in the winter. Nice staff, a good wifi signal a good site overall.

Well organised site

This is a very clean and well run site that we used at the start of our trip to Spain. It’s far bigger than sites we usually stay in but we were pleasantly surprised and if you can get a larger pitch there is plenty of space for an awning and bicycles. Didn’t find good restaurants close by but the site one is friendly and ok if you just don’t want to eat by the van. Lots of plus points - good supermarket almost opposite the site, great beach, very clean shower , washing up and laundry areas and, best of all, good cycle paths. I’m a fairly nervous cyclist and loved the cycle paths along the sea front (Green Wave good for a coffee stop), and the ride to Orpesa across the via Verde where we had lunch on the front.

Dogs welcome but not dog friendly

Easy to find, quick check-in, site clean and overall pleasant. Pitches quite close together. No green space to walk dogs and for them to do their business. Mercadona supermarket right across the road..and beach only a short walk away. Booked a table at the on-site restaurant (with dog), waitressing staff quite scared and uncomfortable with the dog, which in turn made us feel uncomfortable so we only had a drink and left. We have done a whistle stop tour of France and Spain, and this was the only site that we have had to book two nights..don’t think we’ll be staying there again. Alright place..but not for us!!

Second visit-good site

This was our second visit to Bonterra and we weren't disappointed. All the trees have become leafy and therefore more shady than last time. Some of the facilities blocks have been upgraded to a high standard. The beach, the Village and Mercadona still within walking distance make it ideal for motorhomers. Expensive site but still cheaper than CMC.

Ideal touring site especially for motorhomes, but....

We've stayed at Bonterra a number of times. Ordinarily, we find it the ideal site for all the reasons expressed in other reviews especially as we are cycling motorhomers. This year, however, we had the misfortune to coincide with the weekend of a Spanish National Holiday in September when a bloc of pitches adjacent to ours was taken by a number of families as a group. It was raucous until quite late. The many children ran amok. No effort was made to moderate behaviour even though, like us, a number of those affected complained. Our other unwelcome surprise was when, for the first time, we ventured into the swimming pool area to catch the last of the sun. It was 5.30pm and none of the sunbeds was occupied. As, however, all the beds in the sunny part had apparently been reserved for the day, we were allowed only to use two (unreserved) in the shade. Beggars belief. Would we stay at Bonterra again? Yes, for sure - but we'll be more careful about timing and forget about the pool.

Quaint but Quiet

I would agree with everything positive about this site, all facilities are excellent, staff friendly and helpful, lovely swimming pools, ideal for beach and Benicassim but for us it was just too quiet, a lot of shops and restaurants were closed, Sundays especially, and, unless you travel away from Benicassim, by bike, bus, train or car, there isn't a lot to do. If you're looking for a break away from it all then this is ideal but we prefer a bit more going on!

Wonderful well organised campsite

This was a very friendly and efficient campsite. Well looked after and very clean. Lots of facilities and you were allowed to choose your own pitch. Pool was lovely and it had a great restaurant although we didn’t eat there. Short walk from the beach and there is a supermarket opposite the entrance. We only stayed one night but would look to stay longer next time as it had a lovely feel to it.

Winter Suntrap

We stayed at this large site for 9 weeks from early January until 9th March 2019 and had very good weather. There is a tendency during January for ferocious winds, but otherwise it was sunny and dry most of the time. The site is extremely efficiently run and kept immaculately clean. In the newer shower block the showers are like mini wet rooms and there are private cubicles with sink and electric point. All the general sinks have power points too. Facilities for washing dishes and clothes and even dogs (!) are attached to each shower block. There is a laundry room by reception. The site was quiet but would probably be noisy during high season when there are lots of children. The lovely little town of Benicassim is ten minutes walk away and has some lovely restaurants. The beach is also a few minutes walk away. There are frequent buses to Castellon (the next town) from a stop nearby. A supermarket is across the road and a Lidl a few yards further on. There are lots of daily activities run by the site, including use of the gym equipment and classes in Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi and general fitness plus bike rides, hiking, Spanish language lessons - all free! Two swimming pools (indoor one is heated) are close to the site restaurant and bar. There are cycling paths all around the area and a dedicated dog walk. Pitch sizes vary and most are surrounded by hedges for privacy. Electricity is an extra charge and is very expensive. Lots of English, Dutch and German people plus a few French. We would definitely stay here again.

A Site That Ticks all the Boxes.

We enjoyed a three night stay just before Christmas and can see why this is such a popular site, especially for those on an extended break over the winter months. Dogs are not allowed on the beach although plenty ignored the signs, but there is a good paved path behind the site ideal for cycling or dog walking. On site restaurant is ok but plenty other choices nearby and there is a really good supermarket a two minute walk away. Toilets and showers are excellent. Some of the pitches are minimalist in size but you can choose your own and we managed to get a corner one in a good spot and bigger than most. Overall what’s not to like!
