Nice site beware of the Sap

Overall the site facilities, including the shop, resturant and pool areas were some of the best we have experienced. However our pitch which was a fully serviced pitch. Was very uneven and undefined. Due to the landscape the waste water didn't ever drain as it was expected to go uphill? That aside which is a minor niggle. The main issue was the site is positioned in a pine forest which resulted in our van and new awning being completely covered in tree sap. Not and easy thing to remove spending nearly a week on the van and awning to clear it all up. No doubt due to the chemicals we had to use the awning will require re proofing. Be warned!!

Fabulous site for families

We spent the first 2 weeks of the summer holidays here with our boys aged 5 and 1. We had a fully serviced pitch and it was huge. There's lots of shade from the pine trees. There's plenty to do on site. There's 2 outdoor swimming pools, 1 indoor and 1 kids pool. The first week it was really quiet and we got sunbeds every time we went. The second week was much busier and it did get a bit rowdy around the pool. The lifeguards were great though and didn't tolerate bad behaviour and even asked some lads to leave that were being too rough. There is mini golf, a kids club and a playground on site. My 5 year old particularly enjoyed the mini disco. There is a shop onsite which is well stocked. We didn't use the restaurant except for getting ice cream and takeaway chips. For those who enjoy cycling there are some great cycle paths through the pine forests right next to the site. The beach is within walking distance and is very popular with surfers. There is an area for swimming that is patrolled by lifeguards. The beach is huge and has powdery sand. On hot days it was lovely as you get a nice breeze on the beach. Lac Leon is around 15 mins away by car. There is plenty of shade around the lake and lots of pedalos and boats for hire. There is a large car park next to the lake that is free to park in. There are 3 largish supermarkets within 15 mins drive of the site. Overall we were really impressed with this site and will definitely return another year.

Fantastic site

We have just returned from a fantastic two week trip to Camp Eurosol. If you take away the 3 days of rain and the traffic around Bordeaux (god it was sooooo bad!!!) it would have been an absolutely perfect holiday. After reading some of the reviews we arrived a bit little concerned that the site may be a bit over crowned and the pitches would be close together and yes it was a little like that especially given the number of trees you have around the site, but once we finally positioned our caravan we felt immediately at home in this most peaceful, tranquil, multi-national and very friendly site. Yes it is different to the normal caravan club sites but come on you're in France and you should expect somethings to be a bit different than in the UK. If you are thinking of going to this area of France then believe me when i say you will not find a better site in a better location. The site has everything you would need and if you take a look on the Eurosol Website a video shows you it all to know but we were particularly impressed with the stocked shop with a bakery that provided us with fresh bread daily, the entertainment which was varied and you guessed it entertaining (finished promptly at 23:00 hrs every night) and the swimming pools were fantastic with something for all ages. Finally i have left the best till last, the beach, powdery white sand as far as the eye can see, a smattering of restaurants and shop and lots of blue Atlantic sea with swell to brush up those surfing/body board skills all supervised by vigilant Life Guards who position flags to keep swimmers away from the strongest of the rip currents which do occur along this whole coastline To sum up Saint Giron Plage is a beautiful and peaceful corner of France which has decent weather, gorgeous beaches, friendly locals, great food and good surf. Camp Eurosol is a brilliant site in a fantastic location. The staff are friendly and welcoming and i thank them for making our first trip to France with our caravan so memorable.

An Excellent Site

Although we visited in low season it was very hot and appreciated the many trees which provided shade. The pitches can be uneven as a result of tree roots but were of a good size and the extent of the pitch was clearly explained. All facilities were clean and modern and staff helpful and friendly. A great location for beach lovers. The onsite shop was adequate and supermarkets were only a few miles away.

Very much a family site

This site is perfectly geared towards a family holiday. The facilities are all good and the location near a beach and adjacent to fantastic, safe cycle routes make it a winner. The site hasn't got particularly defined pitches so can appear a bit "disorganised" and entertainments run until around 11.30 in the evening so don't expect tranquility (although the vast majority of people were respectful and the site soon quietens down). A useful shop and good restaurant, pool area. We will return but probably not until we have grandchildren to share it with.
