Stunning views

Stayed here for 3 nights in June. Fully serviced pitch with no extra electricity charges. Site gives free local bus ticket for duration of stay. Add ins such as pool spa etc are expensive. Great for walking and mountain biking. No large towns near by. We enjoyed our stay at this site. We had plenty of room for awning and parking on pitch.

Not Good

Very disappointed with this site and as mentioned by another reviewer I also cannot understand why it is promoted and advertised by the club. The pitches are ridiculously small, I had a motorhome just over a meter from my front window, so close in fact the guide lines of their canopy straddled my hitch! The toilets are adequate but are showing their age and feel dark and dingy. All the other facilities on site you need to pay extra for including electric which considering the already inflated price for staying here. I thought because of the cost and the 5* rating this was going to be excellent but it fell short at every level. I was also charged 1euro 20 for each unit of electricity rather than the .80 cents listed on the club site details. It is not to be avoided but be aware it is very expensive, very small pitches (unfortunately there is no option to leave a photo of the pitch I think members would be quite shocked) and certainly no where near 5*

Very EXPENSIVE be warned

Arrived here on 10th June for 6 nights - the location is very good if you enjoy walking and there is a good little town Sesto just down the road and you can do some lovely walks from the site.....However - it is ridiculously expensive - its approx 55 euros per night and you have to pay extra for electricity (ours was 34 euros and we mainly used the gas) you have to pay to use the Spa - there is no outdoor pool and you even have to pay 3 euros to empty your toilet. The site is like a carpark - very little grass and lots of gravel and my do they pack you in. I am very surprised the C&M club recommend this site knowing their clientele - there were absolutely no English people there apart from us which wasn't a problem but we thought it was very telling and I guess the price put them off. I must admit if we had known quite how expensive is was we could never have booked it. I have never had to pay 6 euros for a swim before on a campsite. We did have a great few days here as the area is stunning and we decided not to let it spoil our holiday. The local town had lots of nice little restaurants which were much cheaper than the one on the site.

Comment from the Club:

Sexton Park is a member of the chain of Leading campsites in Europe. I have visited the site and the surroundings as you say are magnificent. The spa area is 8 euros in 2023 for the indoor swimming pool and spa and wellness area including indoor and outdoor sauna, cold pool and jaccuzzi. There are quality restaurants on site. The pitches are all year around pitches so gravel not grass. This site is expensive but luxurious and a delight to visit.

After a long tour of Europe this is the best site we have stayed on.

If you like the outdoor life this site has no equal, its location allows for easy access to the hills for walking, biking and climbing. The scenery around the site is simply breathtaking. The facilities are five-star quality and are the envy of any campsite we have previously stayed at in Europe and at home. The staff were very friendly, helpful and fluent in German, Italian and English, The site is located in the area of South Tyrol and a short distance from the Austrian border and serves as a ski resort in winter. The bonus is that the infrastructure is geared for cold weather and everything from the washing up area to the chemical toilet emptying point is inside a number of heated complexes. The bar is very welcoming and the food in the restaurant is of a good standard and price accordingly. The on-site shop is well stocked with groceries and provisions to service campers through the day and it sells outdoor equipment including clothing, maps and other useful items. This is in the Italian Alps, of course, so be sure to check the weather and temperatures. This place equals the Swiss sites we stayed at but is more reasonably priced. There is also a pool and spar.

Disappointing stay

We were really looking forward to our visit here after reading reviews however we were very disappointed. The Outdoor pool was closed and there was a lot of construction work going on which was noisy. We were not allowed to look at the indoor pool unless we paid, the fees were expensive if you had a family and wished to use the pool every day. The staff were not friendly and sometimes quite rude. The pitches are tight and are not all level. The facilities were quirky but in need of upgrading as they are looking very tired, shop on site is very expensive. Overall it is an expensive site and not worth the money. Bins were often overflowing with rubbish. On our final night at 11 pm a very large motor home was allowed to come in and attempt to squeeze on to a pitch behind us, which took him well over half an hour, even although the gate was supposed to close at 10 pm. No one listens to our complaint about this. On a positive the views are stunning from the site. It is a good area if you are keen on hillwalking and mountain biking .

Response from the Club:

This site is part of the Leading Camping chain of top quality campsites in Europe and is open all year long. We advise members to contact our Travel Service team at the Club if they have problems on site that are not resolved by the owners satisfactorily, especially if facilities are closed for some reason and we can investigate for you. In this case the site have taken out the very small unheated outdoor pool and made it into a Kniepp area and as they are open all year work had to be done in the summer when the weather allows. The charges for the indoor spa complex are on our website page.

Great location and facilities

Great location with spectacular views.  Great for walking and cycling.  We stayed on a premium pitch and these are of a good size.  Facilities very good. Onsite restaurants of a very good standard and reasonably priced. Bus stop at entrance to other towns.  We took bus to Innichen and went on the chairlift, taking the 'fun bob' (toboggan on a rail) back down the mountain.

Wonderful scenery

July 2016. Situation at 4,ooo Mts, this site has easy access. Well managed  site and spa. Quirky , shabby chic decor in the Tryolean chalet shower block.,which were clean and well kept. Excellent shop but expensive, wine deli bread.excellent camping and outdoor equipment shop on site. Supermarket in Seato nearby. Regular bus service at site entrance. Good walking, cycliing and outdoor pursuits . Small pitches were tight. Advise premium pitches (fully serviced)  if space is important. English spoken. 2 restaurants on site and takeaway.  An enjoyable holiday in a beautiful location but it was expensive . We thought it was worth the expense.
