A lovely little campsite

This was our third visit to this site. It is well placed if you are travelling via Rotterdam. All Motorhome pitches are large, flat and fully serviced. The facilities are great- hot showers with large cubicles, toilets with paper, soap, hand dryers, hair dryers and some even have lids! A novelty in French campsites! The owners are very pleasant but we understand they are retiring this year. Luxembourg seems cheap and all public transport is free. Cheap petrol/diesel. We ate in the restaurant/bar and chatted to some locals who come for a meal every week! There is a great bike path which takes you to Echternach, which we have used on our previous 2 visits but sadly the weather was not conducive this year! Overall a great little site which we would recommend.

Great stop over site - but not felt very welcome

A bit mixed in our review, a good located site near the main towns Ettelbruck and Diekirch but by far the best places to visit as far as we were concerned were Vianden ( 30 mins by bus) or Luxembourg City (30 mins by train). Both free services which is amazing. Cheapest fuel from our European tour this year. We rated down due to possibly our late arrival (7.30pm) was met with Leon seemingly making us wait before he appeared at reception. Meanwhile we had discussed with restaurant staff our intention to dine there. Only at 8.30 on appearing he told us they closed early and had sent the staff home, great thank you! If only you’d said we would have unpacked afterwards. The next day he gave me outdated bus information that his wife corrected for us, accompanied by a shoulder shrug. I got the distinct feeling he’s done this before, quite odd. A shame really since the pitches are all flat and the area really appealing, just don’t arrive after 5 and ask for Ineke.

Excellent site

You get a really warm and friendly welcome from Léon & Ineke at Camping Gritt in Ingledorf in Luxembourg. The location is excellent. It is pretty peaceful. The facilities are extremely clean. The fully serviced Pitches are very spacious. There are plenty of walks from site and places to visit not too far away. All amenities are within easy reach. Léon & Ineke are only too pleased to assist with help on this front. The on site bar/brassiere serves great food - the menu us not extensive but well cooked and presented. A highly recommended site that we look forward to returning to at some point in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stop over on the absolute gem of a site!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stop over on this lovely, peaceful riverside site. The owners were extremely helpful from the moment we were welcomed, even researching and printing bus and train times for FREE travel into Luxembourg City. Level grass pitches, all have electric, water and waste. The excellent facilities are immaculately clean, warm, spacious and fully equipped including toilet roll! We enjoyed dinner in the on site brassiere/ restaurant ( closed on Tuesday), plenty of menu choices and a well stocked bar. Several local people came to dine, a recommendation in itself. Lovely ambience. Lovely outdoor terrace area with stylish touches, sure it would be delightful to relax there over a drink during warmer weather. Truly a gem!

A Nice Site

This is a nice quiet site with large pitches next to the river. The owners are friendly people and keen to help visitors get the most out of their stay. The only downside for us was the almost transparent glass on the showers in the smaller toilet block and having to dress and undress outside the shower unit. Although there is one shower cubicle with proper doors and dressing area. There is no toilet paper in this block although there is in the block next to reception. This is my reason for not giving the site a five star rating. The site restaurant and terrace serve good food.

Tranquil site

Enjoyed 2 nights at this lovely site en route to Switzerland in late August. We were given the choice of an abundance of pitches next to the river. Site was very peaceful with clean facilities and pitches are of a good size with individual taps. Lidl supermarket approx 10 minute walk from site and located approx 30 minutes drive from Luxembourg City.

A wonderful stay surrounded by peaceful riverside location

We stayed at Camping Gritt for 5 nights in August 2019. We were pleasantly surprised by this delightful riverside location, peace and tranquility. There is a traffic free pedestrian & cycle path alongside the camp site & river which takes you either into nearby Diekirch (25-30 mins on foot) or Ettelbruck (40 mins). Mullerthal scenic region plus Vianden & Clervaux all within easy driving distance. Public transport from neighbouring town to Luxembourg City also makes a good day out. The camp site is very clean with a friendly atmosphere, clean and well maintained toilet/shower block (don’t forget to take your own toilet paper) and a cafe/restaurant on site. All pitches have electric, water & grey waste disposal. Motorhome pitches are hard standing. All pitches very level. A Highly recommended base to visit some of Luxembourg’s hidden gems!

Excellent site

This is an excellent site in a great location. You can cycle to Ettelbruck or Diekirch easily and can travel to Luxembourg by train. The owners are very friendly and welcoming as area all staff. The new fully serviced pitches are great and the facilities are of a high standard and always spotless. The bar and restaurant are very nice with a good atmosphere. This is a quiet and relaxing site. We stayed on 2 occasions this summer and will return. Well worth a visit.

Peaceful stay in Diekirch

I have visited this site for over 20 years and it still retains the original attractions of a lovely setting with easy access to the local towns and shops. The transport in Luxembourg makes it easy to get around (by train into Luxembourg city) or local buses if you want to have a day off using the car or motorhome. Plenty to see in local area and a site which is easily accessible to all the channel ferries

Excellent

Thoroughly recommend Gritt. Beautiful location excellent facilities which were spotless. Spacious pitches. The restaurant and bar with outside terrace was lovely and I cannot praise the owners enough. So welcoming, nice and helpful. Only one negative, I’d advise avoiding pitches nearest to the reception and restaurant area. During our visit there were a few seasonal pitches where the residents were noisy and they gave the impression they had the right to do what they wanted as they were longer term residents. They kept us awake until after midnight every night with their loud chatter. You can easily make out which pitches are seasonal, so if you avoid them you should have a fantastic stay. Please don’t let this put you off as you will miss out on a great site but it’s useful to know.
