Stunning area

Stayed here 1st week September and was fortunate with weather no clouds and full sun every day 26c. Because of the mountains around the sun was only on my pitch from 1030 until 1515 ea day. Had a very nice welcoming when arrived and shown to pitch small shop a bar and a restaurant on site. 20mins walk into Lauterbrunnen with all its shops and restaurants. The 3 day rail pass is expensive but well worth it if use it well. Covers boat trips also so much to do and see in the area. Very busy all across the area. Really enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended

Very good site but very busy

A very nice site close to the village and all the train/cable car connections. We were there in the height of summer and it was packed to the rafters with not a lot of room between pitches. Toilets were very good and clean and we particularly liked the big family rooms. The Jungfrau 3 day pass is expensive but if used properly well worth the money.

One of the best.

Must be one of the nicest places in The World. Stunningly beautiful area that just gets better the more you look (and the higher you go). Clean site with very good facilities. Read the other reviews and they will tell you all the great points about this site. Only a couple of things to note - the site was obviously making maximum use of the season so very busy and everyone rather packed in (motorhome 3 feet from us) also, as the valley is so deep, the amount of time that you get direct sunshine is shorter than usual (better when it is very hot). Would definitely return.

Stunning scenery

This site is in a beautiful spot, stunning scenery to wake up to. 5 minute walk into town and just an hours walk to the cable car to the top of the Schilthorn. You can book tickets to travel to the Jungfrau but this is quite expensive. The shower block was immaculate and had relaxing music playing whilst you carried out your ablutions. Very helpful staff and a small well stocked shop. The restaurant and bar weren’t really open while we were there but there are plenty of restaurants in town.

The ‘Icing’ on the cake - the jewel in the crown of our trip to Switzerland.

Our first visit to Switzerland with the caravan and glad to say all went well. We arrived after a four hour journey just as it started raining. Overall uneventful until the last half mile where you have to navigate a narrowish road leading to the site. It’s no problem as long as you can avoid the pedestrians and not meet a lorry coming in the opposite direction as we did. A warm welcome on arrival and thankfully good English spoken at reception we were shown to our fully serviced pitch. Switzerland is not cheap and site fees were around £60.00 per night. Our pitch was a mixture of grass and gravel based hard standing. Do not expect the same standard of pitches you find on a UK club site and some of these do get waterlogged and muddy when it rains heavily, but wooden duck boards are readily available if required to help provide a water free base to stand on. The site is open all year and there are many pitches taken up by a mixture of caravans and cabins which look to be on a semi permanent basis judging by the strengthened roofs to protect against the snow in winter. In addition there were also many log cabins which were let out by the site to visitors. The general amenities are fantastic with a bar and restaurant on site as well as a well stocked shop that did fresh baked bread every morning. There are three amenity blocks on the site, one looks very new, and the showers and toilet facilities were immaculate and the showers were to die for. The site caters for walkers, skiers, hikers and mountain bikers with additional facilities for those camping, including a communal kitchen and dining room, ski storage room and clothes drying facilities. Lauterbrunnen is a lively village with plenty of shops, cafes and bars as well as a transport hub best placed to utilise the Swiss Travel Pass. Whichever direction you look the surrounding scenery is stunning whatever the weather. We bought a three day travel pass and visited Interlaken Grindelwald, (including Grindelwald First) Wengen, Murren, Kliene Schiedegg the Mannlichen plateau and the Eiger Glacier, as well as Jungfrauhoff (top of Europe) using a variety of mountain trains, cable cars, gondolas the new Eiger Express cableway to cross the area viewing the spectacular scenery in rain cloud and sunshine. Expensive yes!!! CHF250 each but used properly you can get everywhere you want and see many of the highlights of the area so it is value for money. All in all a five star site and definitely one of the best we have stayed on, with only one minor criticism which is outside their control - we were pestered by flies some of the time, mainly in the evenings which were an irritant when trying to eat outside.

Amazing setting

We stayed here as a stop over on our return from Lake Lugano. The site is in a beautiful setting nestled in the mountains you can see the multiple water falls from your pitch, which was spacious if a little noisy from the fast running river and cow bells which all added to the Swiss atmosphere .Staff were all very friendly and the shop was well stocked. As we were there low season the restaurant was closed on a Wednesday but we walked into nearby village to eat also stunning scenery.Toilet block was the best I’ve ever seen piped music and ultra clean.Would definitely visit again for a longer stay.

Spectacular location

Wow, what a location, stunning, with lots to do in the area. A large and busy campsite, with great facilities, very efficient. Waking distance to the village, with great attractions. Wonderful memories of sitting outside the motorhome, watching the waterfalls. Only slight watch out is that we had a couple of thunderstorms when we were there and some of the pitches ended up under water fruit a bit

Amazing Camp site

This really must have been the best camp site we have ever stayed on. The location is probably one of the most spectacular you could ever get, waking in the morning to see the stunning Staubbach Waterfall through the skylight of our caravan (well not literally!). Despite being in the Swiss alps, access is very easy from the main E8 road at Interlaken, and then a few miles up a good wide main road into Lauterbrunnan The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, particular thanks to Adrian who spent a long time with us explaining all about the many attractions around there and how to access them. We've never seen such immaculately clean shower/toilet blocks which also have piped music, they look brand new but were told they were 13 years old, which is a testament to the way they do their maintenance. There's a lovely restaurant, which does food at very reasonable prices (given it's Switzerland), the Rosti just has to be tried. The site like the toilets is immaculately maintained, and the pitches are spacious with plenty of room for our 7.5m tourer and awning and car. Will definitely make the effort to go there again.
