A perfect place to escape the English winter!

We thoroughly enjoyed the 8 nights we spent at La Rosaleda and plan to go back for longer next year. Several of the people we chatted to were spending some months there. The campsite is beautifully maintained with spotless facilities and our pitch, like many others, was a suntrap. There is easy access to the delightful town of Conil and its lovely beaches either on foot or by bike, and the roads are good for drives to Cádiz in one direction or Barbate, Tarifa or Vejer in the other. The cycle path south to the Trafalgar lighthouse was a delight, separate from the road with a superb surface, what a joy! During our stay there was an invitation to a free lunch in the campsite restaurant – well attended by the multi-national guests, largely from northern Europe (I’d hoped to practise my Spanish but need to brush up on my German before next year!) – what a great idea. We had booked our stay some weeks in advance but there were plenty of free pitches in late February/early March, and to book through ACSI might have been cheaper, albeit not much on CAMC’s 2023 prices.

LOVELY PLACE TO SPEND SOME OF THE WINTER

This is a very pleasant site with access to a good cycle route into the local town /beaches and beyond. The faciities are excellent boutique style; in 20+ years of touring we have never seen better. The bar and restaurant are well priced and welcoming. Our pitch, booked through the CAMC, was large. The only downside was that the electricity costs were not included in the pitch price. Buses from the local town provided easy travelling further affield.

A good all round site

Second visit to Rosalida. It is a good site with good and plentiful facilities. All pitches have varying degrees of sideways slope - not an issue with levelling blocks. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool is excellent although busy at weekends. The restaurant and the shop are good. Conil de la Frontera is a lovely Andalusian White seaside town. The beach is magnificent. Occasionally a bit windy (straight off the Atlantic).

Have booked fto return for the next 3 years!

We stayed here for 6 weeks from Mid January to Mid March, and were very happy there. In fact we didn't really want to leave. Next time we are likely to go for longer. The site is well maintained, the shower and toilets are numerous, clean and comfortable. The only complaint being that there is a 5 minute timer on the hot water in the showers. The nightly rate of 11.44 Euros (Long stay rate) did not include electricity. We charged our phones, laptop, wifi router and ran the fridge on electricity and for the 6 weeks the charge was 53 Euros. The bar was pleasant and well frequented by those staying. The restaurant was alright but not anything to write home about. We ate there twice, but preferred to eat in restaurants in Conil de la Frontera, El Palmar or Vejer de la Frontera. The pitches are not large, but adequate for caravan, canopy and car, just. You can walk into town and to the beach, but in each case I would estimate it is a mile and a half. There is a general store on the site which was pretty good, but we preferred to shop at the Mercadona in Conil. Staff were friendly and helpful. Visitors were from UK, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and of course Spain. There were many more Spanish staying here over the long weekend of Andalucia day and the site put on entertainment over that long weekend. Some restaurants were open in January in Conil, but not many. More opened up from 7th Feb, and even more at the end of Feb. We made day trips in our car to Puerta de Santa Maria, Cadiz, Vejer de la Frontera, Jerez de la Frontera, Cabo de Trafalgar, Bolonia (wonderful Roman arqueological site and restaurant on the beach there). We loved Cadiz, Jerez and Vejer.

Great site and location

Stayed at this site for two nights and wish we had booked for longer. We had a double pitch which was huge with a lovely view of the surrounding countryside. The site wasn't too busy while we were there but as it was low season there were limited facilities open however it's only a short walk into the town with plenty of shops and restaurants and the lovely beach goes on for miles. Shower blocks were clean and well maintained. We would recommend this site and location.

Large site in a great area but location not good for Motorhomes

The site is built on a hill so there are views of surrounding countryside from many pitches. The site is a long way from Conil so be aware if you don’t have transport. The pitches are sand based so dusty in dry weather and muddy when it rains so not ideal as it’s supposed to be grass pitches. There is an on site restaurant and pool for the summer and the toilet facilities are fine but basic but you need get used to the electric push button timer. Beware though that the electric is metered so be careful what you have running as it will be expensive. Do not under any circumstances accept pitch 242 and 243 as you will be at the top of the site opposite the sauna building and 2m from the grass dog toilet so when you’re having your breakfast and tea the lovely dog owners bring their Fido to crap whilst you’re eating which is lovely of them, but as their fur baby is happy then that’s fine. The site needs to provide a proper dog walk and toilet as this is not acceptable and we left a day early as we were sick of it.

Lovely site, good location and very welcoming staff

We stayed here for 5 nights early Oct as part of a 3 week tour of Spain in our Motorhome and was probably the best site of the trip. Lovely welcome by the reception team and really helpful in providing local maps and information for travel to Cadiz and supermarket locations etc. The only negatives for us was arriving after a long drive we were hoping to enjoy a meal at the restaurant to find out it is closed during October for staff holidays! Would have been good to know that when we booked! Along with that the pool (which is a good size and well positioned at the top of the site) was only open at a weekend. Facilities are kept very clean and the shower cubicles spacious with hot water - on a 7 minute timer! Which actually is more than sufficient time. The site is set on hill and if you are on one of the pitches near the top then it is a little workout collecting your bread in the morning, from the very well stocked shop. Conil viewed from the (very long) beach is also set on a hill but then shows off its 'sugar cube' houses to its full extent and is well served with restaurants and shops. We walked everywhere, to the beach, supermarket, bus station and the town, beware though coming back from the beach or town is up hill. Cycling would obviously be an easier option.

An Excellent Site

This is a good all round site. The only slight disadvantage is that the pitches, although level individually, are all on a slope. Plentiful good quality sanitary blocks. An excellent restaurant. A good well stocked shop. Staff are very friendly, multi lingual and helpful. An excellent swimming pool. It is about 1.5 kilometers walk to lovely Conil de la Frontera and its splendid shops restaurants and beach. An ideal base for exploring the Costa d'Luz. Good bus service from the 'new' bus station to Cadiz. Motor homers be warned that parking all along this coast is now restricted to 'turismos' (passenger cars) only. The local police are very vigilant and have no hesitation in imposing fines.
