SUMMER 2022

Pitches - a few touring pitches fitted in where mobile homes could not be located Sanitary Facilities - very clean OnSite bar / restaurant - expensive Comments: We arrived on site and were placed on a pitch near reception and near the bar and pool. Our electrical connection was nowhere to be seen and two hook up leads had to be joined to reach the electrical point on the other side of the adjoining pitch which needed to be unlocked by the site staff and a 2-pin connection added. We asked where the water point was and were told that there were none and that we should draw water from the wash basin taps (prestex) which took ages. Whether this was potable water was questionable. There was nowhere to drain the grey waste. The site "team" were very noisy as was the site itself. The site was miles from anywhere. Not a good stay.

June 14 - june 28 2019

Very nice campsite but with limited facilities out of season. Members need to be aware of the office hours as many were seen waiting until 2pm in the car park. Barrier keypad an issue for right hand drive as it is impossible if no passenger to help. Pitches excellent although you need to search out the shaded ones. Only 3 showers available in this period, with 4 more locked. As we were leaving facilities were being readied for the start of the French invasion! Water supply for vans is an issue as push on/off taps are sadly lacking, e.g. 8 pitches to one tap. However for all this we love it and will return next year, staff are helpful and the pool is great, but beware high season demand on facilities. Excellent shopping nearby, same for restaurants and bars in Pornic. Nantes, Guerande, St Nazaire are excellent days out.

July 22nd-August 4th 2018

Easy journey down from Calais-definately follow CC local directions to site. Campsite not packed or many English our location on the back boundary recommended for tranquility. Shower block cleaned twice daily but no toilet seats. Pool under cover but 4 slides into splash pool and upper sunbathing deck-French swimwear enforced. Most of the site is on a hill and pitches tiered us you go up the hills. Small shop on site for essentials and take away food available. Supermarkets about a 10 minute drive away and cheap fuel. Crazy golf course, tennis courts and bowls area opposite site entrance (free of charge) We enjoyed our stay.

Few facilities and virtually empty out of peak time

In our experience this site is very typical of many French campsites - good sized pitches, reasonable facilities and good entertainment in the peak season. Friendly staff. Once in September it is very quiet, with very few people on site and few facilities open. As it is in the country you unable to walk to a town or village for any cafes, entertainment etc. A good proportion of site is given over to static cabins. Please be aware that if there is an 'adjacent agricultural show' you will get little sleep on some nights - check dates in early September.

Nice but remote

This is the second time we have stayed at this site. This time during early July. Main snag with site is there is nothing in reasonable walking distance so you need to drive or go by bike. Site is partly terraced on a hillside with a few tight corners on the access roads. Toilet block at top of site - (toilets no seats) & showers (mainly in outside cabins). Lower block all locked up. Water taps on site are press button so filling a can takes lots of pushes. Motorhome service point at far end of site - it's a bollard type one like you would find on an Aire. Swimming pool was lovely. On site shop ok for beer etc but not much food. No food available in bar at lunch times as they close for lunch!. Although site rule of no noise after 10.30pm on one night the disco in the bar could be heard way across the site well past midnight. Visiting Pornic a few miles away is a must - a nice coastal town with supermarkets (Lidl etc). Also a visit to Nantes is recommended - about an hours drive - nice city & Les Machines de I'ile well worth a visit.

May Visit

Site is situated about 4miles north of Pornic, on the D13 towards St Nazaire. The access off the main road to the site, about 1/2 miles, is narrow, twisty and bumpy in places so requires care. The site is situated on terraces on the sides of a valley, and some access roads are steep with tight bends Care is required, particularly by larger units. There are a variety of pitch sizes and shapes, although all seem adequate. All were neat and tidy this early in the season. About 75% of the site is static and holiday chalets, although the touring pitches are mostly in a separate area. High season parking at the statics could cause additional problems for tourers' access. Sanitary facilities are varied, but were kept clean. There are plenty of water points around the site, but the press button operation made the filling of an Aquaroll a tedious task. Steep site roads and stairs to the pool and washing machines could prove difficult for those with limited mobility. Few services were open when we visited early in the season. Pleasant stay here, but we will not be returning as the situation requires the use of the car to visit any location off site.

Early season

Stayed here for 4 nights in early May. We arrived on a bank holiday Sunday, site was busier than any others we stayed on. However on Monday the majority left, and then it was just a few tourers, a few live ins, in some of the many statics and a few small families. Pool area had lots of big boys on the slides and shouting in the pool. In the week though it was lovely and quiet and the water very warm.Reception very helpful, pitch big and flat, up by top boundary. Sanitares excellent, water very very slow. Push button tap, hopeless. Rather too many statics for us, it changes the atmosphere of a site, but fine for a stop over. Area lovely, walks along coast excellent and overall feels a wealthy area.Would be good for families in summer holidays who will make noise themselves! We would avoid it then!

Great location!

Toilet & shower facilites always kept clean with staff regulary in attendance. Some pitches were a bit too small & the terraced areas seemed a mass of tents & caravans with little or no privacy. Getting caravan on to pitch could be difficult due to narrow access in places and we witnessed one damaged caravan because of this. Refilling water barrels frustratingly slow and a common complaint - no problems with 8amps. Great location for exploring many local coves and beaches.  Pornic very picturesque - definitely worth visiting.

Nice site in secluded location

Friendly staff and very well cleaned site. The staff were always cleaning the WCs and showers. The Pool is good for the kids and there is a nice sun lounger area for mums and dads. The main pool is covered when the weather is not typical. The slides are good fun but are not as big as the picture suggests.  Be prepared that you need proper swimming trunks as they will not allow you in the pool with swimming shorts  Pitches were a bit worst for wear when we arrived due the hot summer. Pitch size is ok. 8 Amp electric is included but you will struggle to boil a kettle without it tripping you can buy additional amps at a cost.  Shop was ok although the take out pizza's were not that good. As per all French sites Fresh bakery goods are available from first thing  overall a nice site for younger families to relax

Stay 19/07/2015 10 Nights

Great site international mix of Dutch, French and German, caravans/campers/statics. Good pool for the children not so for adults but not a complaint. Facilities very clean; attendant on duty for most of the day keeping them clean. Staff can speak English but a better rapport is developed if one at least attempts French. Either way we found them very polite, friendly and helpful. We were concerned about the access road to the site as we have a large van, 8.0m in length. Whilst the road to the site is on the narrow side so long as care is taken it is easy to negotiate. There are some tight turns on the site but they did not pose a problem for us, our pitch (No 175), was nice and shady and much larger than most UK sites. The site has strict rules about night time quiet (No vehicles permitted to site after 22:30), which made for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The campsite is a 15 minute drive to Ponic Super U, a little longer to the beach. Nice restaurants in Pornic and Tharon Plage especially if you like seafood. Beach at Tharon Plage is nice and sandy, don't expect crystal clear seawater though, its clean but carries the silty murk of the Loire as the estuary is only 15 miles away - makes for excellent mussel though! Weather is great with nice cooling Atlantic Breeze. Would visit again.
