Lots to do

We arrived the last week in August, and the site was fairly busy, in a typical French campsite style. There are a lot of large pitches, and those by the river have excellent views. The end of the camp with the pools and activities area is fairly noisy, so a pitch at the opposite end may be for you. There is a lot to do in this area, with rafting, gliding, canoeing, walks, bike rides and so on, but it is mountainous, so be prepared for long drives, high up with hairpins (but its worth it). The gorges and Lac St croix are not to be missed. We found all the facilities to be clean. The site shop is a bit spartan, but there is an Intermarche about 10 Kms away, which has everything. The site restaurant is a cut above typical site food establishments, and the bar area around the excellent pools is attractive. The site quietens considerably after the last weekend in August, which is clearly when the retired Brits and Dutch arrive, if that's your preference, although the shop closes, as does the entertainment. We would stay again but perhaps for say a week at end of season on the way somewhere else.
