MSW Holiday 2023

This location was very lovely. The pitches were set out very well and isolated by hedges. We arrived in a storm, and the staff were very helpful and upgraded us to the deluxe pitch, which was very large had a seating area and BBQ. The toilets we feel needed upgrading as bit too open to the elements, but very clean.

A great site for families and a good location for visiting this area of the Loire/Cher

We arrived at about 4:00p.m and I had to book us in, leaving my husband with the car and caravan because it was so busy Eventually we got through the barrier and found our pitch right opposite the toilet blocks- wonderful!! The pitch was sizeable but on a slope so not easy to set up.When we finally set up we were able to use the service pitch facilities for fresh water and drainage. WiFi is free. There were two shower/toilet blocks on the site which were cleaned regularly. We know because we were pitched right opposite one of them, which meant that our pitch became a thorough fare for the lazy campers and for most of the children. Why do kids have to play around toilet/shower blocks when they have more than adequate facilities available elsewhere the site? This is a great site for families as there are alot of kids play areas, a kids club and swimming pools. We didn't use the bar and restaurant facilities but they seemed to be well frequented and popular. There was a mini market on site which sold most essential goods and the staff there were very pleasant. It is a good base for touring a very popular area of France. It is very much family orientated and would be a great venue for my son and daughter-in-law with our 3 grandchildren, so whilst I would recommend it to them I doubt that we will return again unless it were outside the school holidays.

A quiet time at Le Parc du Val de Loire

Our visit was in the second week of May, which was an exceedingly quiet time for holidaymakers on the Parc. The pitch allocated was a large super pitch (sloping away from the access point) which was approximtely 160 sq metres in size and had a water supply and grey water disposal point; a large covered seating area and a garden barbeque were also available for use. Staff gave us a warm welcome and were helpful and attentive to our needs throughout the stay. The onsite facilities were kept in a very clean state and were of a high quality. The swimming pool; bar and restaurant were all functioning well and takeaways were available too. Food in the restaurant were realistically of a "fast food nature" but staff there were very friendly too." In addition to the above, childrens' entertainers were honing their skills for when the site becomes busier. When the site is heading towards full, the facilities might be stretched but in early May it was a pleasure to be there for our five night stay. However, the insistence of Yello Villages for all those booked onto the site having to wear wristbands is frankly a nonsense! It can perhaps be understood in high season - but to be treated as children with this requirement takes the edge off a good quality campsite - which is a great shame!

5 days in the sun

We stayed here for 5 days this summer. We are a family of four with kids aged 8 and 10. The reception staff were excellent and very efficient. Overall we liked the site but we did get fed up with the wasps. There were millions of them and almost every pitch had a home-made wasp trap (plastic bottle, cut in half with the top inverted and pushed into the bottom with some fizzy drink poured in the bottom). Fly screens on the windows were a must but we found that we couldn't eat outside (including at the restaurant) without being bothered by wasps. My wife and 8 year old both got stung which led to lots of stress whenever a wasp came near. The pool area was excellent. The kids could touch the bottom of the pool everywhere and use the slides on their own. They also loved the trampoline area and the play parks. The evening entertainment was good although the prices at the restaurant, bar and takeaway were quite high. The on-site bakery was excellent; the croissants were to die for! The shop was good and there is a large supermarket nearby. We found that mobile reception was not very good here and the wifi seemed quite expensive. However, travelling a short distance outside of the site allowed me to get a 4G connection. Nearby Amboise was an excellent day out and well worth a look. We somehow found ourselves on one of the smallest pitches on the park with our 8m TA caravan. I would strongly recommend getting a pitch with water and waste (anything but the base-level pitch) but I don't know if this can be done when booking through the club. There were a lot of families on the site and lots of crying babies (perhaps due to the heat?). Whilst the site had good facilities, we didn't find it very relaxing. I would recommend the site though. Just be prepared for the wasps!

Super family site

Stayed here as a family unit for four days on our return from the south of France. Probably the best reception welcome we received whilst traveling France. The company certainly train there staff well. The site is very large and very family oriented, swimming pools and slides lots of activities to keep everyone happy. Bars and restaurant quite expensive but they have a captive audience. Entertainment in the evening usually finished by 11.30 ish. The pitches and a mixture of statics and camping/caravan. There are five types of pitch to choose from, advice is go for the largest one, all with water and drainage some with seating and BBQ, pitches mixture of grass and dust, take another ground sheet with you. Electric hook up point can be a distance from pitch, take spare lead extension. Site has three shower, toilet, dish washing area blocks, in our option block three is not up to standard and should be updated, showers in this block are out dated, they have some sort of hose attachment as the shower head, really poor standard, and the water switches it self off after about 10 seconds, advice is use another block, also try and pitch away from block three as the pitches opposite face directly onto the block not very nice seeing people in and out of the cubicles all day. Plenty to do and see in the area, a visit to Chateau du Chambord is a must, as is the choclate shop factory not too far away. Ok for a few days but wouldn't want to stay too long, go further south for the sun, weather in this area can be hit and miss, however would recommend and would visit again.

our stay in june 2017

Site ok but not for us, the staff are friendly and helpful ,I felt we had dropped into butlins great for family's, the trouble is that there is holiday homes each side of the site and caravans in the middle instead of all caravans together, the nose never given up with children running all over the place also music from the pool area was to nosey could hear it all over the site and went on till 11.00 pm one night, if you like that type of thing it would be fine, but I thing its for family's, that's why its call YOLL,HO not good if you need peace and some quietness, we will not return.

Family orientated.

The site is very well organised and run. If you don't like noise and activity choose out of season! It is still ideal for the area which it serves and our first visit in many years was very enjoyable. Pitches are hard used in main season but heat and lack of rain don't help! Some pitches are quite small as Yelloh seek to maximise their investment. Worth booking early and looking at plan to get a good sized location.

Great site in the heart of the Loire Valley

This site was brilliant for our needs though it may not suit everybody in high season. We have 3 children, all at primary school, and we loved the two swimming pools, entertainment, restaurant, the various classes and the location. Some may find it a little noisy in high season as the entertainment goes on until 22:30. Families with very young children may find it difficult to get them to sleep, unless pitched at the opposite side of the site from the bar. The pitches are of a generous size and part shaded. The shower blocks are immaculate and generally, the site is very well managed. It is lost amidst a cluster of quiet country lanes and there are a number of interesting towns and chateau in the area. We would certainly return if in this part of the Loire again.

Little security

Stayed for 10 days, was pitched next to a very dusty road, each day trucks passed our pitch taking goods to bar and covered us and all our kit in dust. One night a group of of 6-10 drunk men was walking around park at 3:30 in the morning, I went to reception for security found none, complained at reception next day along with other campers to be told manager was looking into problem, was also told if it was to happen again call a telephone number that would be taped to reception window, did not feel site was safe, would not go back.

also no free wifi at any part of site,
