Why stay here ...

With its idyllic location on the banks of Lake Brienz, Aaregg is a high quality site with breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside. The grass pitches are of a good size, and several are fully serviced pitches with superb views across the lake and of the Bernese Alps. Direct access to the lake offers you the perfect place to canoe, and kids will enjoy the inflatable play area in the shallow water.

Upon arrival, you’ll receive an information pack with details on local attractions. There’s no shortage of attractions, with Brienz just a 15-minute walk and famous for its wood carvings. Enjoy a return boat trip on the lake to Interlaken. The Brienz - Rothorn rack and pinion railway makes for an interesting trip, as does a visit to the Ballenberg Open Air Museum, a mile or two from the site.

What an amazing site!

We stayed here for 10 nights Sept 2019 and cannot recommend it highly enough. We booked a Lakeside pitch and our awning was about 3m from the Lake. The views are stunning and the welcome warm. The amenities block has to be seen to be believed. It is not just clean, it is immaculate, always. Large shower cubicles, toilets with sanitiser (not that its needed), children's showers with elephant shower heads, 3 heights of children's wash basins, free dishwasher, dog shower, boot washing sink, fish washing sink, the list goes on. Although not reported on this website, there is free wifi to use on your phone. The site is in easy walk of transport for motorhome users, Brienz railway station and boat terminal is just over 1km away and old town Brienz is well worth exploring. The restaurant onsite produces good food at a good price, for Switzerland, and the shop stocks essentials, with supermarkets nearby in Brienz. There are bikes and canoes for hire. Switzerland is expensive, but half price rail cards saved us a fortune and we travelled with the caravan freezer packed with frozen meat. We travelled to the highest train station in Europe at Jungfraujoch, the steepest cog railway in the World on Mt Pilatus (with fresh snow at the top), the steam train up Brienz Rothorn for 360 degree views, over to the Rhone glacier, cruises on Lakes Brienz and Thun, the Geissbach falls and more, all within easy driving distance. Don't hesitate, go!

Ten day may 2019

We stayed at the site for ten days as we travelled from Belgium and France, What lovely site , I would rate this site very highly the staff at this site are very friendly and helpful and welcoming the site is set on the lake and some pitchers on the edge of the lake, you can see the mountains around you they have snow on them at the tops, you can see water falls that are running from the mountains down to the lake, The scenery around the area is spectacle the site as been very relaxing the toilet block is 5* they are lovely the showers are nice and hot the toilet areas are very clean, they are impressive, its even got a dish washer in the building and washing machines there is lots to do in the are you can walk into Brienz our cycle from the site, there is a coop in the town if you need supplies, you can go to Interlaken on the ferry from brienz also you can go on the train to most places, we went on the ferry and back on the train, also we went on the mountain railway but this time of year it only went half way up ,as the snow was at the top and the train could not go to the top of the mountain there are spectacle views from the mountain down to the lake, the wheater as been up and down had some sun and rain at this time of year but enjoyed our ten day in Switzerland very much we would recommend any one to visit this site its not a place to missed, we will be back at some point in the future

Beautiful location on Lake Brienz

Stayed three nights and enjoyed very much. Stunning setting.by lake but can be hard to find shade. We asked to move from our allocated pitch as in full sun and staff were very accommodating. Brienz a short walk/cycle ride and well worth a visit. Ballenburg open-air museum also a great day out. Didn’t try restaurant but shop/bar ok.

Swiss delight

Had six nights at this wonderful site which is superbly located at lake Brienz and surrounded by mountains. The roads through the site are fairly narrow but you can with care negotiate a twin axle van around. The toilet and shower block was spotlessly clean. There is a shop on site but sells very basic produce however you can order bread and rollsfor the next day. There is a co op supermarket it town that sells everything. A restaurant is on site, we never used it but was always busy. If you’re lucky enough to get a lakeside pitch it will be wonderful. We booked a lakeside pitch 12 months before we went but they cancelled it a week after we booked it. They offered us a special pitch which we call a super pitch. It was not the same. We got a little annoyed when we saw people arriving for one or two nights using lakeside pitches. Putting that aside it is a great site extremely well located and well worth a visit. Bring plenty of money, Switzerland is very expensive but worth it. We’ll be back.

Wonderful Holiday

Camping Aaregg is in a wonderful location with stunning views over Lake Brienz. Very well run site with friendly staff and a warm welcome from the owners. Sanitary facilities very clean and modern. Great location for walking and cycling and close to the beautiful village of Brienz. We had a lovely break here and enjoyed the opportunity to swim or go out in our dinghy on the lake.
