Great stay watching the races

We stayed here at the beginning of November race day when unfortunately the site was extremely wet from heavy rainfall. Positives... Brilliant helpful wardens, backed us onto pitch in the dark and couldn't do enough to help throughout our stay. They also maintained the site extremely well, keeping it clean and tidy. The discounted raceday tickets were great and the experience on the day was fantastic even with the bad weather we had. The site is in a great location and the town of Uttoxeter is lovely to visit. Negatives... We found the toilet block although usable and kept very clean they were very tired and are really ideally in need of an update to give this site a boost of appeal to bring it up to the standard on other club sites. The roadway around the site itself was very potholed. We had an elderly parent with us who found it difficulty traversing the pathway to the shower block from our pitch. This also made the paths hard to walk along in anything other than winter boots due to the many puddles in the potholes during the wet weather. Especially as the grass was very boggy being late in the season it would've helped if the roadway was better maintained to walk along to the toilet block and reception. It's such a shame as we did thoroughly enjoy our stay here and even with these few negatives we would still revisit in the future for both racedays or if we needed to stay in the local area.

Short stay special

This is the third race course site that we have stayed at, & it has all the same facilities. Clean & adequate toilets & showers etc, not as up market as a conventional club site but it ticks the box. The staff were very friendly & helpful & not the jobs worth staff that is sometimes a problem with the Caravan Club staff. The town of Uttoxeter has several dog friendly & human friendly pubs & it is a steady 10 minute walk from the site. To conclude, a nice site for a short stay.

Great site

A great site, lovely staff. We stayed on the site while we went to alton towers. Is nice and close, only 20min drive. The site is well looked after, the shower block was clean. Its easy to find and easy to get the caravan on and off. Its a beautiful site and i could recommend it. Thank you.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A .................

Season and a fantastic pair of hard working wardens make! The only problem is they are leaving Uttoxeter racecourse at the end of the season to bigger and better climbs. Susan and I (from Yorkshire) would like to wish them well at their new site Carsington Water, no doubt we will be visiting if only to give them grief haha. No, on a serious note Alan and Jean have turned this site around, the best wardens we've experienced in years of coming here. Pleasant, friendly, fun, helpful and a sheer pleasure. Wishing you both every success for next year, an asset to the caravan club, well done. P.s. Alan, The grass has now officially stopped growing ????

Enjoyed my stay

I always enjoy Racecourse sites and this one was no exception. The facilities are great with each shower cubicle having its own little shower box - and it felt easier to keep the water at the right temperature. Wardens were great too. The surrounding area has plenty to do with NT properties etc etc - and Uttoxeter itself offers varied shopping including its own very new Waitrose. I haven't rated the family aspect because I haven't travelled with children for many years but I didn't see a play area. It was fun being there while racing was on too - although you would need to be careful about access if you aren't watching the races.
