1. The 'Fairytale' walk: Broadway to Broadway Tower

  • The route: Follow the Cotswold Way markers from the High Street for a steady climb to the second-highest point in the region.
  • Hidden Gem: The red deer herd at the Tower.

2. Riverside loop: Bourton-on-the-Water & The Slaughters

  • The route: A flat, scenic stroll linking 'The Venice of the Cotswolds' with the tranquil hamlets of Lower and Upper Slaughter.
  • Hidden gem: The 19th-century water mill in Lower Slaughter.

3. Arboretum adventure: Moreton-in-Marsh to Batsford

  • The route: A gentle circular walk through the meadows to Batsford Arboretum, home to the UK's largest private collection of trees.

4. The estate walk: Cirencester Park & The Broad Avenue

  • Distance: 5 miles | Difficulty: easy | Best for: history and dog walking
  • The route: Explore the 3,000-acre Bathurst Estate. Follow the Broad Avenue, a five-mile stretch of majestic parkland.
  • Hidden gem: 'The Beano' vintage coffee trailer in the park.

5. The valley escape: Burford & The River Windrush

  • The route: Follow the Windrush Valley to the isolated medieval church of St Oswald’s at Widford, which stands alone in a field.
  • Hidden gem: The ruins of the 'lost' village of Widford.
