On the banks of the River Aare, at the base of the Wissentein mountains, this well-tended site features its own small marina perfect for enjoying the water by canoe or boat. Whilst there’s no pool, you’re welcome to swim in the refreshing waters of the river. There’s an onsite shop stocking the basics.
Solothurn is accessible on foot or by bus, and worth exploring for its Baroque architecture, castle and street markets. The fascinating old town of Büren an der Aare is less than 20km drive. The local station is an easy cycle ride and provides access to Bern, with its UNESCO listed old town and intriguing museums.

Is there a set arrival day? No
16 miles east of Biel. Take the Solothurn West exit (number 31) from the A5. At the first traffic lights, go straight ahead over the river ( SP Solothurn-Nord) and left at the end of the bridge at the lights. At the end of the road turn right. After 250 metres the site is on the left. (site is signposted at the traffic lights but only with tent symbol not by name)
