National Tyre Safety Month

The Caravan and Motorhome Club is supporting National Tyre Safety Month with a number of initiatives throughout October that will enable members to stay safe on the road and save money.

National Tyre Safety Month was established in 2006 to raise awareness of the importance of keeping your tyres in good condition. The campaign focuses on current legislation, driver education and the risks posed by fitting part worn or defective tyres.

The Club promotes tyre and road safety all year round and its advice pages offer a wealth of useful information for members and non-members alike. Free tyre safety check and 5% off tyres

Tyre pressure gauge

Ensure your caravan or motorhome tyres are inflated at a safe level (which also optimises fuel economy and improves longevity) with the WSL Tyre Pressure Gauge. This digital gauge simply slots into the tyre valve and comes complete with a built-in torch and boasts features such as self-calibration and automatic power off.

Tyre pressure monitor

TyrePal systems continuously monitor the pressure and temperature of your tyres while you are driving and give clear visual and audible alerts should anything start to go wrong. TyrePal TC215B systems allow you to monitor both caravans and tow vehicles.

Wheel safety kit

WSL’s Wheel Safety Kit is ideal for twin-axle caravans and is designed to help prevent loosening of wheel nuts, tyre failure, tyre blowouts and wheel theft. It includes 20 wheel safety bolts with an anti-friction design created especially for the caravan industry, a pressure gauge soyoucan check you have the correct tyre inflation pressure, a torque wrench to help you deliver a precise level of torque with a safe and secure clamping force.

Torque wrench safety kit

The Milenco Torque Wrench Safety Kit enables the user to correctly torque the caravan wheels to the manufacturer's specification and maintain that torque through a visual indicator which will alert you if any wheel nuts have worked loose. The kit is supplied with 19mm sockets that are suitable for most UK caravans (a Bailey-specific kit is available separately).

Tyre dressing
