In the last Safety and Security newsletter, we asked you to tell us about choosing repairers for your motorhomes and campervans. Here’s a quick summary of the responses we received.

We asked you to rank what is important to you when choosing a repairer, and you told us:

Who would you like to source a repair?
Over 63% would be happy for your insurance provider to source a repair for you, and felt this would provide you with the following benefits:
- Trusted repairers
- They take care of everything
- Takes the stress away
- No need to get an estimate
- Saves time
Over 36% of you told us why you wouldn’t be keen for your insurance provider to source a repair, the main reasons being:
- Already have a repairer in mind / used before
- A good relationship with my chosen repairer
- A repairer available at a convenient location
- Worried about the van’s warranty being affected
All the insurers that provide our Motorhome/Campervan Insurance have agreed our members can choose their own repairer. However, it is important to use a repairer nominated by the insurer/underwriter if you want to ensure you will have the protection of the lifetime guarantee on the repair quality. This applies if the repair on your vehicle is carried out by an approved repairer, and you have had continuous insurance with us and your vehicle is maintained in a roadworthy condition.
