Certificated Locations (CLs) are five-pitch privately owned sites that are sprinkled across the UK. They offer a wide variety of holiday locations to choose from, whatever your interests.

The CL of the Year Award recognises the very best sites and rewards hard-working owners who pull out all the stops for members. If you regularly use CLs, you’ll know what they have to offer – some sit in picturesque rural settings and others are near to the city for a sightseeing break. 

This year, there are five National CL awards; Best CL Newcomer (since April 2024), Best CL in England - North (including Shropshire, Staffordshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire), Best CL in England - South (including Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Northants, Peterborough), Best CL in Wales and Best CL in Scotland & Northern Ireland. In addition to these awards, CL owners can nominate themselves for the Sustainability Award which was introduced in 2023 and recognises the efforts they put in to making their CL sustainable.

It's time to nominate your favourite Certificated Location (CL) in our annual CL of the Year Awards. Nominating your favourite helps to support the Club, the wonderful sites and the CL owners.

  • Only one nomination per membership number, but there will be Regional Winners and Best Newcomer (all CLs opened in the last 2 years) so you can nominate up to 5 CLs.
  • You must have stayed on the CL you wish to nominate.

Best CL in England - South and Overall Winner: Poole Farm

About this Certificated Location:

Poole Farm is an adults-only, multi-award-winning campsite in just under an acre of beautifully maintained grounds, offering modern facilities including a shower room, laundry and dog wash. This CL offers a tranquil escape and with easy access to Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and the North Cornwall Heritage Coast, plus nearby attractions like Tintagel Castle, Lydford Gorge and the Eden Project. Poole Farm is a perfect base for exploring the region or simply unwinding in comfort.

Sustainability Award: Yew Tree Farm

About this Certificated Location:

Yew Tree Farm champions a holistic approach to sustainability into every aspect of the guest experience. These include biodiversity and land management practices, renewable energy, water conservation, recycling and upcycling initiatives and supporting the local and farming community.

Guests are encouraged to explore nearby independent businesses, take part in fundraising events and embrace car-free travel where possible. This balanced approach ensures the farm contributes positively to both the natural landscape and the wider region, offering visitors a meaningful and responsible rural experience.

Best CL in Wales: Llainfran

About this Certificated Location:

With stunning views of Cardigan Bay, this campsite offers peaceful beachside stays and direct access to the Wales Coastal Path. It is ideal for dog walks and nature lovers. In Autumn, visitors may spot Atlantic Seals and pups at nearby Cymtydu Cove. Llainfran has 16 acres of farmland, grazed by sheep, two donkeys and alpacas.

Best CL in England - North: Grange Farm

About this Certificated Location:

Set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Grange Farm is perfect for walking, cycling, horse riding and touring by car.

Best CL in Scotland and Northern Ireland: Bee Edge

About this Certificated Location:

Located on the edge of a working family farm, Bee Edge welcomes all members and their pets to enjoy views across rolling farmland, local wildlife and the North Sea. The campsite offers a dog exercise area, nature trails and guided farm tours depending on the season. This CL provides a relaxed base for exploring the Scottish Borders, with Berwick-upon-Tweed, Edinburgh and Newcastle all within reach.

Best Newcomer: Happy Trails

Set beside the River Witham, Happy Trails offers a peaceful riverside escape on a working farm where guests can enjoy fly fishing, wildlife spotting and countryside adventures, with coarse fishing available from 2026. The campsite features secure gated access, showers, hard standing pitches with electric hook-up and an enclosed dog exercise area.
